 KL Rahul became the third Indian to score a century at Lord's.


Indian opener KL Rahul scored an unbeaten century as India consolidated their position on the first day of the rain-hit second Test. Rahul became the third Indian opener overall to score a century at Lord's. Before him, Ravi Shastri in 1990 while Vinoo Makad scored a century here in 1952.

      In the Test match that started on Thursday, hosts England won the toss and decided to bowl first. In reply, India had scored 276 runs for 3 wickets till the stumps. Rahul was standing at the crease after scoring 127 and Ajinkya Rahane with 12 fours and a six.

The pair of Rohit and Rahul became the first Indian opening pair after a long gap of 10 years to score a century partnership on the soil of South Africa, England, Australia and New Zealand.
